Very good range and value for money. I found it about two months ago and have used it for my first energy - saving light bulbs for my home. Service and delivery were excellent, and when an ES fitting was sent instead of a BC a replacement was sent quickly and free of charge. The one fault of the website is that it doesn't give sufficient information on either the dimensions or lumens of the bulbs. Mostly it gives neither which is a bit off-putting. It's impossible therefore to compare lumen output, which is more important than wattage these days. But it's also tricky if you're not familiar with how the low wattages compare with GLS wattages, though of course this comparison will be less and less important as time goes on.
Service rating : 1. I cancelled the order because the credit check couldn't verify the new address that I had just moved to - the card payment was approved by the bank, but not the transaction by Lyco's internal credit fraud team - Lyco therefore lose sales of this nature and any similar ones presumably where someone wants to buy a present for someone and have it delivered to a different address. Having cancelled the order I simply ordered again from another provider and am very happy with the product I received the next day ! A good range of bulbs enabling selection of eg high power/low physical volume/unusual cap (which was what I wanted). Swift delivery. Prices comparable to supermarkets but better range (+) and non-zero delivery cost (-). Probably better for a bulk buy (which I could not do) because of effectively reduced shipping overhead. I mark the bulbs as excellent but of course the life time is the most important thing and I have no idea of performance there as yet.(As an aside: why can we not get back to a single standard cap fitting, as I recall being pretty much the case twenty years ago?!)
Service rating : Received my lights on the earlier of the two delivery dates I was given, and they arrived in good condition. However, on ordering I was not informed that there was not enough stock of my item, so delivery was a little later than expected and I had to phone to find out about expected delivery. Stock information at the time of ordering, and expected delivery times, would be a useful addition to the website. Customer service very polite and helpful, however.Product rating : Cosmetically, the lights are beautifully designed and their rustic finish is great , but I had six wires that needed to be attached and it was impossible to get them into the internal housing for the junction box supplied. Had to dispense with the housing altogether and use sealant around the outside of the lights to aid waterproofing.
Ordering is usually easy and quick, but you do pay a premium for this service. I would usually try and buy from my local independent electrical wholesaler who are cheaper and who have a more up to date range of LED bulbs at a much more competitive price. I would expect an on-line retailer to be able to offer a better price than my local agent. Maybe Lyco could economise by not sending out such a lot of new cataloges, concentrate on decent on line offers with meaningful discounts
Good products, good pricing, getting better at describing products (for example, most of us find it hard , in terms we can relate to, to understand the actual light output of new LED / energy-saving bulbs as against old incandescant bulbs). Still not perfect - but the improvements in this area are appreciated. Really great service if things go wrong - as happens in even the best-run companies - that's the big plus with Lyco. Quick, responsive, helpful.
Service rating : The packaging is far too big for the item. I paid £5.99 for very small items plus a lot of packaging. To return one item I paid another £5.00. So I lost about £10 already even if I get full refund on the return product. It would have been much cheaper if products wrapped with layers of bubble bag instead of piles of shredded cartons that adds to the weight and volume.Product rating : Return as not suitable. Tube is a few mm too long with fittings.
Having tried unsuccessfully in my local shopping area to get some opal candle bulbs I remembered that I had used Lyco before so went online. I coudn't find the items in the catalogue so I emailed them and received a very prompt reply giving me the information needed. The bulbs were ordered on a Friday and were delivered to me on Monday - every bit as efficient as when I used this company on a previous occasion.
Service rating : Delivery is excellent. Delivery is very quick but cost of delivery for small consignments is a bit high. Why not offer a cheaper slower service perhaps with less packing. You sent me a huge box with just three lights inside. Excellent service as the payment I made when ordering didn't take place and when they phoned I thought we had missed the chance to receive our Xmas light bulbs before our big party on the Sunday before Xmas . However I was delighted when someone at the firm must have sent them "urgent delivery"as they arrived the very next day and they looked great outside our house. Thank you.
Very impressed by sales team. I was not 100% sure whether the Lyco T4 tubes would be compatible with my Eterna fittings. Georgie went to the warehouse and checked the length of the tubes and fed this info back to me. I submitted the order online and the product arrived the next day, securely packaged. Tubes are now fitted and working. Thanks again for excellent service. :-)
Having bought Lyco products over a number of years I have always been satisfied with their service and the price. This time I was amazed to see the same Bathroom Mirror with Flourescent strip light was still the same price. I should have checked the measurements, was shocked to see it had shrunk to half the previous size. It seems to be happening to everything.
Web site much better than it used to be. I had given up using Lyco because of the unfathomable web site. I had some problems on checkout because I missed confirmation buttons; that is one for the discount code and the other for the method of payment. I thought I'd paid by credit card but ended up being invoiced? Hope this helps. The next day delivery is very good.

Excellent service, easy to order and mega fast delivery. My only problem is the prices shown are inclusive of VAT at point, then when the delivery charges were added, it became as expensive as local shop. So, there was no particular benefit to me by shopping online. Have nothing to say about the service, just that I expect a better deal shopping online, thank you
Product I ordered is what I expected and arrived promptly, very minor niggle is that I have an enormous box of shredded corrugated card o dispose of, wondering if a) the guinea pig would apprecciate it as bedding, 2) whether there's room on my compost heap, but at least its biodegradable and polystyrene nuggets, so 10 out of 10 for materials 6/10 for volume
Generally been pretty happy, but not this time..... Lyco accepted my order, then announced a 25% off offer, then picked and despatched my consignment without offering to apply the discount, and without giving me the chance to cancel before shipping. That irritated me, so I've returned the consignment for a refund. I'll buy somewhere else next time.
Service rating : Easy ordering and Standard delivery arrived before I expected which deserves the excellent rating. I nearly down graded you to Good because of what seemed to be excessive packaging material but I guess using standard sized boxes reduces overall cost?Product rating : Perfect for my garden lighting project. Lyco are a perfect company to do business with. Quality products at good prices, an excellent and reliable delivery service - next day and tracked, a no -nonsense approach to the occasional breakage, and great customer service. Lyco obviously value theirr customers and are determined to satisfy their needs. A market leader in many respects!
Tried to phone Lyco to see if there was an alternative to one of the products, got accounts instead of sales, before i was supposed to be transferred which i hasten to add never happened the person said to another colleague can you take this call i don't know what he is talking about. Apart from that I have always found Lyco to be efficiate.

I have only purchased once off LYCO and the pre-sales staff were very helpful and gave good advice on the products I was to purchase except for the bulbs which on arrival 2 did not work and on my first outing with them two more gave in very easily. I will contact them to look for a better quality/ more reliable bulb.
