Hello Paul,
We have passed your review to the owner of SP230. Please find his repsonse to your feedbackl below:
When the client booked the holiday the arrival time window is clearly stated, when people say 7.30pm, this usually equates to more like 9 pm and having worked hard to clean and prepare a house it is nice to relax in the evening. The customer agreed to meet and greet at their convenience and seemed accepting of this at the time.
We had shopped for them as they forwarded us a large shopping list prior to arrival, so they had food and drink for their first night which we went out of our way to supply.
In regards to the villa being tired, the king size bed and furniture in the master bedroom was new this year and the bathroom was fully refurbished. The single beds are just a couple of years old and they were expensive, quality pieces of furniture. There was just one drawer, accidentally broken by a child, which will be replaced as soon as possible.
The air conditioning works just fine. The D rating just means it uses a fraction more electricity to reach its temperature; it has no bearing on the cooling delivered. It would have been more effective had the clients not switched it onto de-humidify mode.
The countryside by its nature, is also home to animals! Chickens, dogs, cats and even goats. None of our other guests have found this to be an issue as they understand that being out in the countryside means you may hear these kinds of noises.
As we had experienced extreme high winds the sail did indeed break, it is August and all businesses are closed, we did ask a favour of a close friend, who made us a replacement in less than 24 hours. The wind also caused the break in the concrete screed, which will be repaired as soon as possible.
There are several cats belonging to our neighbour that help to keep us free of vermin in an ecological manner. However, this is compromised when the guests go and buy a large bag of cat food and overfeed the cats, making them fat and lazy and then there is also then more food laying around to encourage more vermin. Rats have never been an issue for us in all the years of renting.
There are several parking spaces, and yes one of our cars is parked there in cases of emergency, purely so we can always get to our clients. There were at least 6 were left empty at all times. As the guests did not hire a car this was not thought to be an issue.
The sunbed covers were new at the start of the season, but being pale they do get stained by sun cream and misuse.
We explained that we were testing the market to sell the villa and asked permission to allow the agent access and this was agreed by the client. It was, however, after this point that the clients became un-friendly, having been quite pleasant up to then. As they agreed to this we were not aware that it was an issue.
As we visit the villa every couple of days to check the pools we can’t understand why they did not mention the broken shower? The Dyson works perfectly, I used it after they left, it may be that they did not empty the cylinder as most of Dyson owners know is important every time.
We are disappointed that the guests did not report their concerns or issues to us whilst staying in the property so that we could sort out any problems for them right away. We are always happy to chat to our guests face to face and sort out any issues they may have. Despite this review we are confident that the villa is in a good condition and we have had positive reviews for other guests who have stayed with us this summer.
