Dear Mr.West,

I know we have already verbally discussed the whole situation over the phone regarding your order and delivery service, I just wanted to formally give you a response. Initially when doing the delivery Fosters couriers were sent all the details you provided us regarding delivery. As per our Terms and conditions the customer must let us know if there are any specific requirements needed to complete delivery which is a standard requirement with all online retailers. The couriers came within the given time frame of 7-10 working. The initial delivery didn’t go ahead as a two person delivery team could not tip the unit enough to fit it through the door, this would normally incur a charge for a failed delivery however we fought on your behalf and got the charge removed successfully. The charge of £128 was only applicable to cover the cost of the additional man power needed for the courier in order to successfully and safely get the appliance through the doors. The reason the delivery was pushed back by a few days was so we could successfully dispute the charges for you. It was then delivered promptly at the earliest opportunity possible after. We apologize that any issues occurred but in all aspects we did everything we could to make this the safety and promptest service we could for you with the least amount of disruption.

I am very sorry you have had a bad experience with Alexander’s we genuinely tried our best to resolve this issue for you. Unfortunately sometimes items can be damaged in transit, the manufacturer sets in their terms of business damages must be reported within 24 hours of the signed for appliances. In this instance the damage was unreported until after 48 hours as the goods were signed for in good order we could not claim anything back from the courier as per the terms and conditions which everyone who places an order agrees to upon placing an order the 24 hour time frame was missed. Unfortunately on this specific unit we could not offer to discount the appliance, as a good will gesture for your previous custom with us we did advise on your next order we would offer a discount to try and rectify your dissatisfaction which is an offer that we are happy to honour. We hope every experience with ourselves can be a good one unfortunately this was out of our hands on this occasion, we will still strive to do what we can for you.
