The host Philippe Delhoume was amazingly kind and helpful.
Beautiful log cabins set in a lovely garden BUT only suitable for 2 people ( + maybe a child) as there is so little storage space.
Lubenne - ocean was a nice resort. Good walks and cycling opportunities.
Only lacks a decent restaurant!

Light , clean and spacious, nice area.
Lake great, water very warm when sea was cold. Lake and sea beaches clean. Lots of activities water sports and bike hire, nice bike tracks through woods along coast.

The owner wanted to clarify the point re the pool as your stay coincided with a spell of 'dust' rain from N.Africa and everyone's pools were turning green. So, it did take longer than usual to clean the pool but the circumstances were unusual. From our experience, salt-water pools are definitely the way things are going - better for your skin and the environment.

Very spacious, friendly owners (note they live on site), good pool for toddlers but cleaning of the saline pool can take several hours.
Good ocean and lake beaches. Drive a bit tortuous from villa (25 minutes and as many roundabouts).

The villa was lovely - a real,home from home. We had an amazing holiday and will definitely be back.
Cap Ferret was a revelation - amazing beaches, forest tracks and because we visited at the beginning of the season, quiet.
