Small Group Grand Canal Boat Tour

Our tour operates with max 8/9 people per boat. Access to the Grand canal is limited by the authorities to a specific number and type of smaller boats. Apart from the public transport you will not see big boats of tourists passing through the Grand Canal as in order to preserve the heritage and the environment bigger boats are not allowed on the Canal or the minor canals of Venice. These boats are auhtorized to access the Canal and pass under the Rialto bridge which is one of the main highlights of the tour. There is space on the front and the back of the boat as well as there are seats inside the boat if you want to rest, avoid too much sunlight or rain. Usually on the tour customers are pretty cooperative and switch places between different parts of the boat to take advantage of different views or spots to take pics. Our guides are also helpful in this case and you can always ask the guide for assistance if other passengers are perhaps not that much flexible to switch places. Our rates are in line with what the market offers based on the costs, taxes and other relevant factors. This is a small group tour which offers a more personalized and higher quality experience than a big boat multi-lingual tour with limited access to the sights and a cheaper rate. He has been a guide for many years and is an expert on Venice so I am a bit surprised with this feedback as he is very well prepared for this tour. It is definitely recommended to arrive early - most people wait till last moment to arrive at the meeting point so it may happen that our meeting point assistant is surrounded by people checking in and it is more difficult to spot him/her. We have a sign with our company's logo and a tour name written on the sign so that you can locate the correct person. These are the instructions that we provide on both our tour vouchers as well as our website: Meeting PointEntrance to the Royal Gardens on the water front of St. Marks Square. From St. Marks facing the Basilica turn right and walk towards the open water. At the two giant columns facing the water turn right, and following the line of trees after a 100 metres you will come to the entrance of the Royal Gardens where we will be waiting holding a sign with Grand Canal Boat Tour written on it The tour meets right next to a big iron gate which is the entrance to the Royal Garden. We have a sign with our company's logo as well as tour name written on it so it's actually quite easy to locate us. The tour doesn't meet inside the Garden but at the entrance so any periodical maintenance taking place inside has no relevance as the meeting point location is always the same. I am not sure what type of email was expected unless you are refering to the email with the tour voucher that was sent at the email address provided on the reservation? Please clarify. As you gave us four stars for the tour I understand the tour itself was satisfactory and informative? Thank you for joining!

I am sorry to read you are not fully satisfied with the tour. The duration of this boat tour is just one hour and given its title the main focus is the Grand Canal. It includes some of the minor canals as well. I understand however that the guide and local staff were helpful and informative? Actually we provide pretty detailed instructions about the meeting point which is located at the entrance to the Royal Garden - there is only one entrance so it's easy to locate as also our guide has a sign with the tour name and our logo on it. Dear Client ,Thank you for your feedback and I must say that you are right in the sense that a tour of the grand canal , like many other tours ,is not so enjoyable when it rains heavily . Summer storms do happen and with climate change also in Italy these are more frequent than in the past . Safety comes first for us as well as for all our collaborators . We’ve been in business for 20 years and we have cancelled tours , even recently , when forecast would show there would not be the conditions to operate a tour in safety . That day this was not the case , otherwise we would have cancelled the tour even last minute , also because no taxi driver would have accepted to tour under severe and risky weather conditions This said , I fully agree with you that touring in certain conditions is not enjoyable and I would have quite happily offered you to take the tour again with us the following day if you had contacted us after the tour.
