Response on behalf of the owner; Thank you for your review though the comments have come as a surprise. On greeting you after you settled in and asking if everything was ok you stated yes apart from having no Wi-Fi. We do not advertise the cottage having Wi-Fi so checking before you book would have been recommended. There is a village shop within 1 mile, 15 minutes walking and 3 minutes by car. The shop is well stocked with daily provisions, newspapers, cash machine and post office. Due to coastal erosion, you can get to Skipsea and Ulrome by road but there is no way down to the beach. By driving 10 or 15 minutes to Hornsea or Bridlington, there is excellent beach accesses for all. You thought that the Yorkshire Life magazine from 2008-2017 needed updating; however they have information and history of the locations we thought were interesting and the information hasn't changed dramatically since the time of writing. At each year, a new tourist guide is placed in each of our cottages, enabling our visitors to keep up to date. In addition to the range of magazines, there is a pack of cards as well as one or two DVDs - one of which on Yorkshire. We feel it would be very difficult to provide more entertainment as we get a cross section of visitors and everyones interests vary. Sorry to hear a couple of utensils were not clean but we refute they were caked in burnt food. These utensils are checked regularly and this time these small marks have been missed and we apologise for that. This is our 11th year and our aim is to make our visitors feel welcome and enjoy their time at the cottage. We feel that we do this because we get many returns visits and recommendations. We have been awarded Customer Choice for 2017 and 2018 and before that we were in the Ultimate Collection. Before leaving the cottage, the guests were asked if everything has been ok. On visiting you before you left and asking if everything had been ok, the reply was yes. It would have been nice if the points you have mentioned in our review had been mentioned face to face with me and then we could have discussed them.
