Response on behalf of the Owner; We were extremely disappointed to read this review. The guest arrived to a warm cottage and welcome of freshly baked cream tea with a generous portion of clotted cream and tasty jam. If guests decide to turn the heating off & wear coats that is something out of the Owners control. Electricity is charged as advertised at cost in the accommodation only from the time of check in to check out. There is only one other cottage complex locally who offer similar facilities and an indoor heated pool, for similar accommodation for the same week there the tariff was significantly more than that paid for Orchard. Electricity also being charged by meter reading. Rather than paying "a premium price" this holiday was therefore a "bargain break". The Games room is as advertised with cues, bats & balls provided. There is heating in the games room which guests can turn on or off as they wish and for which there is no charge. Wi-Fi is free of charge and is password protected. Both Wi-Fi and EE Mobile phone coverage, as explained in the Guest information file, is determined by the rural National Park location and totally out of our control. Prior to February Half Term, Orchard had also had some redecoration, a new 32 inch TV & some of the living room furniture replaced with new. All the positives not known before arrival have been overlooked by Orchards Guests and we therefore feel that other factors out of our control impacted negatively on the holiday experience which is reflected in the review score of 3. Exmoor, an often forgotten part of England, is a beautiful place with stunning views, heather clad moorland, spectacular coast line and offers activities and attractions to suit all ages. As Cottage Owners, our aim is to ensure a warm welcome, enjoyable holiday at a reasonable cost; therefore we give guests some control of their holiday cost with electricity at cost and the option of towel hire.
