Response on behalf of the Owner; Dear Andy,
Thank you for your feedback we are sorry you are not pleased with your stay at Lower Trembath. I would like to clarify a few points raised. Concerning the heating, unfortunately we can only have electric heaters in the house. We are not allowed to have oil or gas, due to the age of the property. We are, however looking at upgrading the heaters next winter. We did put in a wood burner in the kitchen to help with the heat and the Rayburn heats the water and the house, this can be turned up when needed. During the colder nights, we do put all heaters on and find this does warm the house up nicely. Being a traditional Cornish cottage, the fireplace in the front room is an original feature. Normally stoking the fire will keep it lit. The two bathrooms are being refurbished this year and the downstairs bathroom is being installed the 1st week in January followed by the en-suite master bathroom. We are also changing the shower in the family bathroom. I would like to point out that we was graded four stars due to the bathroom and heaters. When these are upgraded, we will then be pushing for a five star grading.
We have new wheelie bins on order for the property, unfortunately we are allowed one bin by the council but we are increasing this to two so this will help the problems of the bin filling. The reason this was full was due to the house being cleaned and all bins being emptied by the previous let. We can only have a collection on Tuesday and we have not had an issue previously regarding this. The bins are emptied weekly and fortnightly for recycling. The recycling bags and details of collection are in the same spot where the house key is kept. I have checked and they are still in place.
With regards to the flies and spiders in the bath, we were very surprised regarding this. We always ask our housekeeper to check this when leaving the welcome pack; I can only apologise for this. I have brought this to our housekeeper’s attention. I have checked with everyone involved with Trembath and we did not receive any complaints with regards to your stay. The barns that are currently being converted in to properties are to be ready for 2019 main letting season. We did ask the builders to respect the letting and to not to disturb the house but if we had known we would have contacted them straight away. We have been working throughout the summer and many people staying have been looking around the bat house, Mill and much more. We are truly sorry this has spoilt your stay and assure you that the works will be complete for the forthcoming season.
