We are very sorry you had to experience the problem with the ensuite shower, which was beyond our control on your arrival as we had only been notified that morning it would have been too dangerous to continue using this shower. Our repair team were very quick to replace the whole shower unit, and you were up and running again by the Monday, which included a fast delivery of the replacement shower. The fitting of this did need a hole to be cut into the bedroom wall, which we decided would need to be re plastered etc. and did not want to disrupt your holiday anymore, so decided to wait until the cottage would be vacated on the following Saturday to do this repair, which is why we placed a picture over the hole as a temporary situation.
We are sorry you did not enjoy the front garden at the cottage which is planted with gravel and architectural type plants, outside decking and table and chairs to give a coastal feel. Sometimes in high summer we do get flies from the seaweed which is washed up on the beaches and they can be annoying at times, fortunately this would only occur during July/August during dry weather. Although the garden is surrounded by stone walls and a hedge we do not feel it is completely secure for small dogs, which may find a small gap under the hedge into the adjacent cottage.
Your comments on the rear yard area: This is an area for bins and logs to be stored but does have very pretty planters dotted about to soften the area and cannot be closed off as we need to access the path which is used to take the bins to the front of the property.
The big rug had recently been dry cleaned and I am sorry you found some marks on it, our house keeping team have been informed. We have removed the bed settee from the cottage and have now replaced it with a leather sofa, which was on our maintenance programme to do.
Once again we are very sorry you did not like our lovely cosy seaside cottage, and all comments are taken seriously, but we do have some lovely complements in our visitor’s book from previous and more recent guests.
