Good Afternoon, Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with Delonghi. As your kettle is fully stainless steel there will be a slight weight difference than a traditional plastic kettle. With regards to the lid being tough to remove thelidon yourkettleshould be firmly secured for safety reasons. However, if you find thelidis very difficult to remove the small tabs around the edge of thelid can be adjusted slightly to enable a better fit. I do hope this helps Many Thanks Gemma
