The rating structures used to influence insurance premiums are based on statistics. These statistics are derived from the claims trends that have been experienced over previous years. Insurers study these to enable them to make a prediction on what risks are more likely to experience claims in the future and therefore adjust the premiums they charge to cater for this. We can also see that you added a vehicle to the policy in May and this would also have a bearing on the premium charged at renewal.
