100% Pure Nettle Leaf Nettle (Urtica dioica), Common or stinging nettle, is another really common plant in the UK. I can't imagine there's anyone out there who's not had an encounter with the tiny, hollow hairs on the leaves and stem that act like miniature hypodermic needles, injecting histamin (and other compunds) to create a stinging sensation. Both the root & the leaf of nettle are used medicinally, the root is especially good for some prostate conditions and acts as a natural diuretic to aid bladder function. Another tip for the hardier folk among us is to use fresh nettle to sting and osteoarthritis affected joints (directly, and with no whining!), it's a great, safe way to relieve the pain - very effective too. Nettle leaf tea or freeze-dried nettle leaf capsules are a great help for hay fever symptoms too; nettle contains a variety of flavonoids which can have an antihistamine effect - hopefully reducing itching & sneezing. 2 - 3 300mg capsules a day or even 2-4ml of tincture three times a day should help. Nettle leaf is considered safe for use during pregnancy and breast-feeding, and may help increase breast milk production. As ever though, it's wise to consult a qualified medical herbalist before taking anything new.

Baldwins Nettle Herb 500g
Takes some getting use to as an infusion, but worth it for the nutrition.

Great product - if I can't harvest my own nettles, I always use Baldwin. In fact, their product is of such high quality that I wish I could do the same!

Baldwins Nettle Herb 25g
Lovely as tea, works as healthy diuretic as well as all sorts of health benefits. Lovely to be able to buy loose as leaves, seems to work better than nettle dust or capsules.
