I'm pleased to hear 20 of the 25 plants we supplied to you are clearly prospering although I was disappointed to hear about the problems you've experienced with the remaining 5 plants. Your order should have been packed more carefully by our Despatch Team and also handled with more care by Parcel Force. Accordingly I would suggest we review how the plants prosper over the next few months and then agree the way forward. From your comments it would seem you may wish to purchase more plants and if this is the case we can 'set off' a refund for any plants that do not take from this order, against any new order or alternatively issue a refund to you. Thank you for your feedback. I've reviewed our records and am unable to establish how or who in our team promised a delivery of your order within 24 hours. Unless otherwise agreed our normal delivery timescales are between 5 and 7 working days. Your order that was placed on-line does not request a specific delivery date. Your order was despatched on the 24th May, on a 24 hour service, although Parcel Force did not deliver this until the 28th May. I have today made Parcel Force aware of their failure to meet the delivery timescales although we have no financial redress against them. Thank you for your feedback. Due to the cold start to this year, that has been the second coldest in half a century the growing season is about four weeks behind. Therefore you may yet find the Hawthorn will prosper. I would suggest you scratch back with your finger nail a small amount of bark on a number of plants and if these are healthy this should reveal a green and moist surface. If the surface is dry and brittle the plants may have died, this can be due to a number of reasons including the watering regime followed. Please do keep us advised if the plants do not prosper (although as detailed on our website a failure arte of 10% is the expected norm when planting bare roots) and we can arrange to replace these in the next bare root season (October 2013 - April 2014), subject to you making a small contribution towards the cost of doing so. Having reviewed our records relating to your order I can confirm the following e-mail was sent to you at 14.48 hours on 26th March following receipt of the photographs you have referred to: ___________________________________________________________________ I can confirm receipt of your email, and we have made a note on your order regarding your concerns. I have shown your photos to our Horticultural Director and he believes the plants will be absolutely fine once planted. ___________________________________________________________________ From your feedback I would suggest the Box is still suffering from the extremely cold start to this year and I would recommend you arrange for your gardeners to apply a nitrogen based feed to the plants on a regular basis.
