Clearly I was disappointed to read your review. It is not the level of service we're known for and aspire to, so I'm keen we learn from your experience. I wanted to be clear that none of our agents are on commission. They are all licensed agents and only represent Hiscox. Because they deal with service based businesses day in, day out we encourage them to discuss with a customer what, in their experience, is the right level of coverage for their business. For online purchases this usually comes as part of a Welcome Call to ensure that the customer has received all documentation, understands it and that there are no unanswered questions. While they may suggest other coverages to consider, you are of course completely free to make your own decision. What disappoints me most about your experience is that you felt this was a 'hard sell' rather than us using our expertise to give good, added-value advice which you'd be free to take or leave.
