The lodge and the surroundings were perfect but our terrier dog was able to get out through the side metal rails so this affects our rating and future choices

Sorry to hear that Sandra. I would suggest Percy lodge for your next stay. We have lots of other options which are completely enclosed for very small dogs. Do get in touch next time you're looking at which cottage to book.
