Delightful cards which reproduce designs from early 20th century postcards; each with a genuine sixpence coin to send good fortune along with your Birthday and best wishes. With three designs including the original birthday greeting printed on the card-fronts, and one as ‘A Cheery Greeting in Remembrance kind To show that out of Sight’s not out of Mind’. The sixpence has long been considered lucky; silver was thought to ward off evil spirits in the medieval period but the Ancient Greeks are thought to have been the first to believe that a person should always carry a coin, giving rise to the tradition of including a coin in gifts of purses and wallets to promote prosperity.
