Gift-wrap offering a festive blend of High Victorian and sinuous Art Nouveau foliage designs: a mix of fin de siècle nostalgia and avant-garde design at the dawn of the 20th century. Adapted from an original Christmas card and plates for ‘Von der Pflanze zum Ornament’ (‘From Plants to Ornament’) by Gustav Kolb and Karl Gmelich, published 1902. Germany is known for its traditional, ornate Christmas decorations. During the festive season, German cities and towns light up with Christmas markets and beautifully decorated trees, a tradition that spread to Britain during the Victorian era.
