A handsome and generously sized tray to serve tea or other refreshments in the garden, featuring a summer scene by contemporary writer and illustrator Matthew Rice. The strip around the border shows a classic British landscape on the inside then ducks and cockerels on the outside. Hosting afternoon tea in the garden is a centuries-old British tradition. The popular pleasure gardens of Ranelagh and Vauxhall in London began serving tea around 1730. An evening of dancing and watching fireworks would be capped by tea. The concept caught on, and soon Tea Gardens opened all over Britain, as illustrated in this whimsical tea tray.

The tray is fantastic as a birthday present it went down very well. We have used it twice and the amount of room on the tray is great managed to get everything on for afternoon tea outside.
