Thank you for taking the time to provide us with your feedback. We are very pleased to know that there was much about your stayed that you enjoyed. We can certainly appreciate your concern after seeing the American flag was missing. The reason behind this was due to an extremely high wind storm we had the previous evening...which continued in to the next morning. The grommets on the flag were broken and the halyard rope that holds the flag in place was broken. That morning, there were no less than four people involved in making sure the American Flag was quickly taken care of. One of those people happens to be a former military person that we have on staff and the other was the person you spoke with that morning. There had also been concern that the flag had blown away because it was there and then it wasn't. The timing of our maintenance staff removing that flag and others noticing it was gone, was a matter of minutes. We want you to know that there is no shortage of noticing such an issue and trying to resolve it as quickly as possible. The flag was not hanging properly and was therefore removed that morning so that repairs could be made. We proudly display the American flag and do not want to dishonor that by leaving it in poor condition or position.

Overall rating 5 stars. Everyone helpful, outgoing, friendly and personable. 'Woodcock' cabin much like a ski lodge view and setting, comfortable but crowded.

Thank you for taking the time to write this review. We are pleased to know that overall you enjoyed your stay with us and that you liked all the staff you met while here. Both the Woodcock and Partridge cabins do have a wonderful view near the banks of the Kennebec River in a nicely wooded setting. Their locations are very peaceful. We look forward to you coming back to stay with us again.

Our truck started leaking so we had to put it in the shop. They basically said “***** to be you.” They wouldn’t even let us reschedule.

We appreciate your feedback and are sorry that you had issues with your vehicle. Unfortunately, as per our verbal conversations at the time the reservation is made and on the reservation confirmation itself, there are no refunds or transfers for cancellations within two weeks of arrival. We do offer trip cancellation insurance that covers cancellations up to day of arrival due to injury, illness, bereavement or military deployment, but even that would not have worked in this situation, unfortunately. We do understand your frustration in these types of circumstances and hope this will not deter you from wanting to consider visiting again in the future.

Excellent food and atmosphere. Very clean. The club needs to groom more. Other clubs keep up with their system. Very rough trails coming in to Northern every time.

Thank you for providing us with your feedback. We are glad to know you enjoyed your stay and food in the Kennebec River Pub & Brewery restaurant. We are sorry you were disappointed in the trails leading in to Northern Outdoors. The Forks Area Trails Club grooming schedules are not something that Northern Outdoors is involved with, but we do support what the club decides to do. They do not often groom during the day because of high traffic volume and possible warmer temperatures. Snowmobilers will tear up the trail and erode the base when grooming in those conditions. Cold temperatures are needed at night, along with less snowmobile traffic. If the weather looks like it's going to be warmer, trails are left alone to preserve the base until the temperatures drop again. In addition, there can be groomer breakdowns. We hope this addresses your concerns on why the trails weren't groomed more frequently during your stay and hope that we will see you again next winter.
