Thank you for your kind words, it's great to hear that you had such a fantastic time in the Galapagos and Ecuador generally. 

With regards your hotel in Santa Cruz (Waterfront Inn), it is a very nice place, not least because it's set apart from the busy-ness of the town. For us the hotel is great value compared to other options in town which, though they look cheaper, are often much more expensive. At best, they are marginally less money per night but offer a significantly worse experience. We've looked at most of the hotels in Santa Cruz and give honest direction/advice based on that experience. Where we have a fancy option A and a less fancy but also good value option B, we do present those. We really just don't have a workable option B in Santa Cruz, hence not suggesting alternatives to you. 

I hope this clarifies our thinking. Again, I am delighted that your experience was so positive overall.
