Comments In addition to the white light, this has a very effective UV light (not all UV lights in loupes are effective!) for examining stamps, banknotes, gemstones etc (there are many uses, see our article about UV lights). Light is as important as magnification, without a good light the best loupe is of little use. Sitting at a desk this isn't a problem, use any table light; working as a gemmologist you will have your own light source, but working at dimly-lit auction halls or early morning markets - you will need a light! The light in this loupe is in the form of a 'rim' all the way around the lens, which is much better than 'spot' lights which can cause reflections and make it more difficult to see.
