Thank you for your positive feedback about the service you have received. With regard to The Gambia being a suitable holiday destination for women on their own, I would confirm we get many single women travelling with us, including our own female staff and we consider it safe. However we are aware the locals can be persistent and for this reason we provide information and advice in our Gambia Guide and in our “frequently asked questions” in our brochure and on our website. Hotels have a strict policy with regard to any hassling from staff and we encourage any guest who experiences this to bring it to the attention of our representative or the hotel Management team, so that any such situation can be dealt with immediately. I hope this goes some way to reassuring you of the suitability of the destination for all customers.

I can confirm all hotels accept single guests, however as I am sure you will appreciate, their aim is to try and fill the hotel to maximum capacity and therefore their rates are based on double occupancy for double or twin rooms. For this reason, most charge a single supplement, the cost of which regrettably we have to pass on to our customers, but during the Winter season, there are some hotels which offer rooms with no single supplement. However there are only a limited number of these rooms which we have on allocation and they are very popular.
