Borax dish used to make soldering flux For use with Borax cone or Bar Unglazed ceramic dish This borax dish made of unglazed ceramic is used to make soldering flux with a borax cone or borax bar, alongside water to create a paste. Ideal for all forms of precious and non precious jewellery soldering. Simply wet the dish with a little water, then rub the borax in a circular motion on the bottom of the dish, applying a little downward pressure. The textured surface of the borax dish will grind a small amount of the borax mixing with the water to create a soldering flux paste. The borax dish should always be clean, any foreign substance mixed with the flux may effect the soldering process. The paste should be of a consistency enabling it to be applied to jewellery pieces with a flux brush, ensuring solder flows where it should. Dimensions; Diameter: 10cm / 4".
