Produces a precise power cut Ideal for cutting seats into claw settings or bezels For use with a pendant drill, hobby drill or micromotor Made from hardened steel Established in 1905, Busch are the leading manufacturers of precision cut rotary accessories and pride themselves on maintaining high quality trend led developments. This Stone Setting Burr has been produced from a single piece of hardened steel and is characterised by a stable design which provides a precise power cut and optimum concentricity, ideal for creating a seat in a setting for the stone to drop in easily. Measuring 4.00mm at its` widest (flat edge), it then tapers at a perfect 90 degree angle to a sharp point to imitate the shape of a round brilliant cut gem stone. It has a full working head depth of 3.60mm. It is designed to be used in conjunction with a pendant drill, hobby drill, micromotor or even a pin vice such as 999 AKK or 999 332 to cut or grind away leaving a perfectly prepared setting. Suitable to be used on metal, wax and plastics. Each burr`s construction consists of a number of teeth/blades (inside of the cup) mounted onto a 2.34mm shank. The shank fits into the collet/chuck of the drill, and when turned these teeth cut into and remove the surface being worked upon. Quantity of material removed depends on pressure applied, use of `Burr Life lubricant` (998 021) helps prolong the burrs cutting ability.
