Your experience really does highlight the importance of having the right cover, and disclosing as much information as possible at the quoting stage. When you first approached us for a quote your division of work was 50% interior design, 50% Architectural. After discussing the cover with you, we agreed that an interior design (non structural) policy would be best for you as you didn’t carry out structural work, just recommendations.
When you received your documents from us, you noticed that you were not actually on an architect’s policy, and you did actually need your policy to state you were an architect.
Unfortunately the insurer you were with couldn’t arrange this cover so we had to swap insurers to make sure you were on the correct cover - which was a very straight forward process, but it meant time and bother for yourself, which of course, you didn’t need.
