I am glad you liked the location and views from the hotel but sorry you felt the room was tired and in need of additional cleaning and had no privacy. Had you mentioned these issues to our rep during your stay, she would have tried to help resolve them for you and perhaps asked about trying to move you to a different room if necessary. Your comments regarding the receptionists and housekeeping have been forwarded to the General Manager and she will also take on board your comments regarding the food. Hotel service levels and standards in Cape Verde cannot be compared with those in other destinations and we use our own ratings system which is based on our customers’ feedback and the standards of accommodation throughout the islands. The hotel is a 4.5 grade property and our most popular on Sal, so it’s disappointing there were a few areas which you felt could be improved. Thanks for taking the time to give us your comments.

Thanks for your feedback although we were surprised by your comments since no complaint was made to our representative despite her visiting the hotel 5 days a week and being available to telephone at any time. You haven’t stated what was wrong and the only issue logged with the hotel was a problem with your air-conditioning unit which we understand was repaired. The Iberostar is one of our most popular hotels with our customers and also scores highly on Feefo and Tripadvisor. So sorry you were clearly disappointed on this occasion.

Sorry you were disappointed with the service at the hotel and the breakfast quality. We do explain in our brochure that the service levels and standards in Cape Verde cannot be compared with those in other holiday destinations and therefore we have our own ratings system, which is based on standards on the islands and feedback from our customers. Having spoken to Tracey, our representative on Sal she confirms there was a tummy bug present at the time of your stay, not just at the hotel but over many of the islands. Tracey confirms she mentioned this at her welcome meetings at the time but I am sorry you were ill and I hope you are now fully recovered. The general feedback about the hotel is very good, so I am sorry your own experience on this occasion was not a positive one but thanks for taking the time to give us your feedback.
