Thank you for the feedback. My understanding is the instruction suggest putting in place but not fusing with the dowels intill all has been put in place. Glad you are sorted and enjoy the bench.

A generally very good quality product, though one of the small wooden parts arrived broken and had to be glued together. Once completely assembled it looks good and is comfortable to sit on.
