Just to correct the statement of why the delivery of the suite was delayed, the delivery of the suite was not delayed at our request but instead solely because your carpet department could not fit the new carpet at the same time. The suite and carpet had been ordered in conjunction with each other and it was agreed when ordering that Lukehurst would arrange for the two deliveries to happen together, in order to ensure there would be a minimum of disruption and save furniture having to be moved twice.
We were asked to pay the balance on the suite at the end of October but because of the delays in getting the new carpet fitted, the suite was not delivered with the carpet until the end of November. This meant that the balance for the suite was requested a month before it could be delivered with the carpet and would have meant paying for the suite to sit in your warehouse for a month without us being able to make use of it. The suite could and should not have been delivered any earlier than the carpet as it was arranged that they would be delivered together.
The crux of the problem was the delay caused by Lukehurst in the carpet fitting and then being asked to pay for the suite well in advance of it's delivery. We would have been more than happy to pay the balance for the suite at the end of October (even though you have more generous payment terms from your supplier), if it could have been delivered along with the carpet, which unfortunately it could not.
I hope this explains our experience, frustration, disappointment and subsequent review comments.
