On this occasion, I heartily agree that we should receive a low rating as you did receive a poor service, but I would like to explain what happened.
Each year your insurers request that you complete a form. You did this in very good time, as you always do. What went wrong was that the insurers then asked for a second form to be completed. Again, you completed this promptly and it was forwarded to the insurers in plenty of time to prepare your renewal invitation.
All sounds good - except - this was just before Christmas when your insurers (along with most of the insurance industry) entered into a period of short working hours and skeleton staff. Bottom line, your second form was dealt with by your insurers very slowly, resulting in you getting your invitation very late.
Meanwhile, we did approach the other insurers that we dealt with, but the cheapest quote we received was £500 more expensive.
As a broker, this puts us between a rock and a hard place; do we offer you a very high premium, or a very late renewal invitation?
I can only apologise for the poor service that you received and hope that this doesn't happen again.
