the lock came reversed, which isn't hard to do yourself, but there was no reversed staple to cover the bolt. my door frame is too narrow to have a box cut into it.

Hi, Thank you for your feedback on this lock. Sorry you had issues with this. If you needed to chisel the door to widen the mortice hole then the current lock you have is a different model version of the Chubb 3G114 lock without hardened plates on and unfortunately the newer versions have the hardened plates on either side to meet the insurance requirements. There is a chance you can get it repaired but please note these locks are no longer suitable for the insurance requirements as they are an old standard. Sorry you had such issues fitting this. If you would like to return this lock to us please do so with all the original parts and we can arrange a refund for you.
