Thanks for your feedback. We do appreciate hearing the views of all our guests and especially regulars like yourselves, since it helps us understand what you experience and what is important to you. I have especially noted your comments about the route since I personally planned this particular itinerary. The Lixouri route is certainly weather dependent and it is very much the skipper's call on the day that the Fiskardo to Assos leg is planned. This part of the coast can be exposed and in certain conditions, anchoring is untenable. . If that is not possible, the entire route has to be changed, so it is quite a responsibility for the skipper.
On the issue of boat maintenance, I have to diagree with you, gtiven that I know how much work goes into maintaining the Ionian fleet (and our other fleets of course). Some issues can just be down to be bad luck. The holding tank issue on one of the yachts is certainly one of those,. I inspected the specific yacht myself early in the season and know it was in very good order. The windlass issue on Thunderbird 1, which is an almost new yacht was almost certainly user error. Given the lack of lazy lines in the Ionian, the windlass gets a lot of use and with inexperienced users, damage can be done. One of the downsides in sailing further afield and off the beaten track with our Kefalonia flotilla is that we go into places where there are no spares. This is true of Zante and most of Kefalonia too. We are increasing our stock of spares at our Kefalonia base to deal with this.
Of course there are many advatages to sailing this beautiful area and I was pleased to note that you did enjoy the holiday and that our crew did look after you. Thanks again and rest assured that your feedback goes tight to the top.
Kind regards
