We’re pleased to hear that you were happy with your productand the service you received, but naturally very disappointed to hear that you won’tbe shopping with us again.
Hermes are one of the largest couriers in the country, used by many major UK retailers (e.g. Next and John Lewis). Hermes monitors estimated rates per hour and restructures rounds or increases rates if they fall below £7.20 per hour. In fact, Hermes have said that the average wage for their couriers is £9.80 per hour after expenses.
As of September this year, there have been some allegations against Hermes that this is not the case, however at present this is still just an allegation and has not been verified or investigated. If it turns out that this is the case, and Hermes do not address the issue, we of course will no longer use them. However, as you mentioned- we are a small, family run business, which makes finding a reasonably priced, reliable courier very tricky (due to the lower volumes that we send compared with other, larger retailers). We have tried various couriers and received the most positive feedback from our customers when using Hermes. Which is why we don’t want to jeopardise the service we give our customers, whilst this allegation is still very much unverified.
I hope that helps to address your concerns.
Kind regards, Hollie
