One of your engineers has been back, soon after the installation, when I noticed there was daylight showing through at the bottom of the door. There was a sealing strip, that was missing across the bottom frame which was fitted, but there is still a gap on each corner of the door that allows a draught through.The engineer could not resolve the problem and informed me to report the fault again if there was a draught.My wife noticed later, that a piece was missing, looks like broken off on the side panel edge closest to the door and a hole in the top of the panel. These are the problems with the installation.

Apologies that you've not received the recommendation cheque and this has impacted on your feedback score. I've passed your contract details over to the team that deals with these and they've responded to say that the cheques were dispatched on the 28th (last Friday) so they should be with you shortly. I can also only apologise about the keys not arriving, it may be that they're out of stock currently but I'll get this logged on the system to send some blanks out as soon as possible.

I understand that the cheque received today by the friend to whom I recommended Safestyle was made out incorrectly and the bank refused to accept it. With regard to the additional sets of keys that I requested at the time of purchase, it is not satisfactory - as I pointed out in my earlier email - for Safestyle to simply send me blanks. That is not what I was told would happen by the company’s sales representative. It may seem a small matter but it is a point of principle or - perish the thought- such considerations are of no importance to Safestyle. Total transparency in the manner in which Safestyle conducts business has, regrettably, not been evident.

Thanks, Jonny, for your response to my observations. However as of today, Wednesday 03 October, the cheque supposedly posted to me last Friday has not yet arrived. Also, you have avoided answering my very specific point about the extra sets of keys that I requested both of the sales representative, the surveyor and the installation team. For the avoidance of doubt, I do not expect blanks. With regard to the friend who on my recommendation ordered a door from Safestyle, you will already be aware - and your potential customers would I’m sure be interested to know - that, having registered a complaint about the fitness for purpose of the product, she was told that the matter would not be attended to for several weeks. Not exactly good customer service, is it? Nor does it give cause for customer confidence in Safestyle’s 10 year guarantee. Neither my friend nor I is a serial complainer, but we do belong to a generation that believes in getting what you pay for. No more prevarication, please: SORT IT!
