WeWe are most surprised by your comment about furnishings being poor. You stayed in our new one bedroom garden view villas which have been furnished to a high standard and we often receive compliments about these villas. We most certainly did not scrimp on quality and invested heavily when furnishing and equipping the villas.Your comment about the patio chairs being uncomfortable have been noted but it is the first of such a comment.Regarding the sparse equipment, we can confirm that we have had to minimise the contents due to Covid. We take health and safety very seriously and we follow the guidelines of the government and key UK tourism bodies. It has been necessary to “de-clutter” and remove anything deemed unnecessary such as cushions, throws, ornaments, excess crockery, cutlery and kitchen equipment. This however is in constant review and we will be returning the items from storage as soon as we feel it is safe to do so. Despite the easing of lockdown on 19th July, we all know that the virus has not gone away. For this reason we are erring on the side of caution and not returning to pre-Covid protocols just yet. We are sorry you feel inconvenienced by this action but we still maintain it is in the best interests of all our guests and our staff.We very much hope you enjoyed your visit to Cornwall and that we can welcome you back another time.

Your points have been noted but we feel they are unfair. After checking-in you contacted us and our duty manager attended. You advised you were unhappy with the villa you booked and asked if it was possible to move. Unfortunately we were full in all other properties. Your booked our standard apartment. We have spoken at length to the online agent with whom you booked to ask them to make it clear in the property description that this particular apartment is rear facing and overlooks the car park and a parthway. Unfortunately they have declined our request as they say they have to use standard phrases as they translate the content into more than 40 languages. We have a number of different property types at Porth Veor and ur duty manager noted that you would have preferred a pool view or beach view property. Each property is priced accordingly and to be fair our rear view standard apartment is the lead-price due to its aspect. In fairness however the interior furnishings are thes ame as most of our other two bedroom villas and apartments at Porth Veor. We refute your statement that the property was dirty. We receive excellent feedback about the high standards of cleanliness at Porth Veor and if there had been any issues we have a full team on site and we would have been happy to attend. With regard to the service and food, whilst our restaurant is currently closed for evening meals, it remains open daily for breakfast (subject to availability). Furthermore, we have a bar open daily from lunchtime through to 11pm and we serve light snacks during the day. We are genuinely sorry you were disappointed but we feel from your own comments that this was due to the villa type you booked and was not down to the standard of the accommodation or the facilities. If you are considering returning to Cornwall we would recommend that you contact us direct where we will not only be able to give you the lowest price but we will also be able to discuss with you the different property choices to ensure that your expectations are met. White Lodge Apartments are privately owned and individually styled. The apartment in which you stayed, number 4, has slate flooring throughout which does make it a little dark inside, but this is personal taste and the owners are very happy with it! This year new sofas were purchased for the apartment. There is an eclectic selection of pictures but we disagree with your comment that the apartment was not clean. We are sorry to hear you experienced noise from the apartment above. If you had made us aware of uncomfortable pillows we would have been happy to replace them.
