We appreciate your honest feedback but are disappointed to read your comments about certain aspects of the cleaning. Please be assured we are following up on this matter internally and we will be in contact privately.

We appreciate your feedback regarding the accommodation although we are concerned by your low rating and we have carried out our own internal investigations. Firstly, we are sorry that you seem to have experienced a few issues during your stay. We appreciate you may not have wanted to make a fuss at the time but if you had made contact with us we feel most of what you have reported could have been easily rectified by our housekeeping and maintenance team. Saying that, it is still disappointing that you have felt it necessary to report these issues and please be assured we are now following up on this with our local team. With regards to the toilet, our plumber is attempting to source parts for this, although it is not a quick or easy fix. We are sorry you were inconvenienced by this. Likewise, we are sorry to hear that you did not have enough glasses, teaspoons or scissors. Our site team have now replaced these. That being said, however, should you have reported the missing items to us, our housekeeping team would have happily sourced any replacements for you. Our site manager has checked the bathroom door lock, and informs us it was not broken, it was simply the cover ring on the handle that has come loose. This has now been fixed. We thank you for acknowledging the updates to the apartment, which is individually styled as they are privately owned. The style and replacement of furnishings are very much down to the owner's personal taste, though we do know it has had several upgrades such as new rugs and throws, new TVs and has been redecorated throughout. Despite the above, we hope you managed to enjoy your time in Cornwall, and hope we can welcome you back another time.

Saying that, it is still disappointing that you have felt it necessary to report cleanliness issues and please be assured we are now following up on this with our local team. Thank you for making us aware of a problem with the toilet seat. This was an easy fix and just needed tightening. The door from the front drive to the kitchen did not have fungus on it but was tarnished by salt corrosion. This is unfortunately inevitable living so close to the sea and with the amount of wet weather we have had lately, this has accelerated the issue. We have a regular maintenance and deep cleaning programme and usually the salt corrosion on the handles does not need addressing until later in the season. We appreciate you making us aware as we will now deal with it earlier than our normal schedule. We must apologise that our housekeeping team did not notice a problem with the spotlight in the kitchen when they attended prior to your arrival. This is now on our priority maintenance list to be addressed before our next arrival. It is rare for us to receive any complaints about the WiFi and we are sorry you were inconvenienced. We haven’t had any other similar feedback of late so we will take the opportunity to check the connection and monitor the broadband speed in villa 18. Thank you for making us aware. Since Bay Retreat is situated in a rural area, we do sometimes have problems with ants at this time of year. We have in the past contracted a specialist pest control company to seek their advice but they simply advised it is due to our country location and they advised for us to continue to do what we were doing which is to put down ant powder. We are sorry you were inconvenienced with ants during your stay. Had you made us aware we would have attended with ant powder and monitored the situation. We hope that despite these issues you still enjoyed your time in Cornwall.
