Hello, its fantastic we helped you with your B+E test and you enjoyed your training, and we enjoy doing our job of course.
We value your feedback and it is a shame that you feel this way, However I think to say overall our company is unprofessional is an unreasonable statement and certainly not the case.
Our training courses and facilities are set up extremely well, with free on-site parking for all, amenities and free refreshments provided to all customers. The training support staff when you initially spoke to them on the phone and when you came in for your training, I am sure you will agree, were most helpful and worked quickly to get you in for your course when it suited you.
The 20 minutes delay you mention are not recorded in the training record you and your instructor completed; having just checked through all the recent records. Nonetheless, reference possible delays, indeed we have free on-site parking here for all of our staff and our customer’s, we of course cannot control what customer’s do with their vehicles in the parking areas until they have reported into reception for training. It is possible as you suggest we were having to arrange for vehicles that had been parked in wrong or unsuitable places to be moved for example.
When customer’s supply their own vehicle, we advise them of what they must bring, our terms & conditions also provide more detail on this too. I can look to ensure the need for adaptors with 7/13 pin connections are highlighted and reinforced even more in our confirmation details to customer’s so they can bring them if they have them.
Coupling up the trailer with your vehicle is all part of the course time allocated as it is training of course, as is modifying your vehicle where necessary; without us doing this your training and DVSA test cannot be conducted. As you will remember we also had to fit mirrors to your vehicle and fit L plates too.
We have an entire store full of towing equipment on hand including mirrors and adaptors for almost every eventuality. As you say we did have the adaptor for you and it was fitted promptly. Had you used any other training provider I am quite sure they would not have this sort of stock and support available in anticipation.
As you can appreciate, we can never know exactly in advance every single type and fitting of connection customer’s own vehicles may have, it typically is a 7 pin single electric or the later connections are 13 pin. There are different adaptor types that may be suitable for your vehicle / our trailer.
We request vehicle details in advance to us, so that we can also pass these to the DVSA for the test. Having your reg number, make and model can’t tell us what sort of towing connections you have I am afraid.
I am glad you enjoyed your training and hope with reflection that you can feel your statement is unfairly harsh. Thanks.
