Pretty enough. Looks like a clear glass vase with paint swirled inside and some sheets of gold leave stuck on the top.A friend said it looked a bit like a giant Duracell battery.

The amethyst vase is purely coloured glass, however, the blue agate does also have an iridescent finish, which makes it opaque and gives it it's jewel-like look. You are absolutely right however that the top is gold leaf, we do mention this a couple of times in the product description, but our apologies if this isn't what you were expecting.
