The Yew is a slow growing evergreen conifer that produces red berries during the autumn that will attract hungry birds. Yew is extremely versatile and can be effective to filter noise and wind. Hi, Thank you for your feedback. I am sorry the Beech bare roots were not available as the season had finished, and you had to pay towards potted plants. I do hope they have settled into their new home. Beech looks wonderful all year round. In autumn the leaves turn brown when the plants become dormant for the winter. The plants hold onto these leaves and now you will soon see lots of healthy green leaves have pushed through. Your Laurels will knit together to create a beautiful dense evergreen hedge. During the spring they produce tiny white flowers that are popular with butterflies and bees and during winter they produce small red berries that hungry birds love. As the weather warms lots of new leaves will push through and in the summer they will produce masses of white flowers that will attract lots of butterflies and bees. It is slowing growing and makes a great dense evergreen hedge and the plants do not suffer from box blight or box caterpillar. It has richly scented, large open single pink flowers from June to September, followed by the largest hip of any wild rose - as large as a cherry tomato!
