It is not just any other product but a CE approved high quality medical device that is being used in NHS and private hospitals. I am not sure what yardstick you are comparing this against! Usually all finger pulse oximeters are designed for spot – checking only and where there is no movement of the patient and the oximeter. Finger pulse oximeters are not an alternative for the continuous monitoring pulse oximeters that are placed on the bedside and indirectly attached to the patients through the lead and sensor.Pulse quality detected, Nail polish or similar things over the nails, Dark skin tone, Cold fingers, Low perfusion / low circulation of blood, Very bright room light etc. interferes with the light that passes through the finger and can thus affect the readings shown. The readings shown must combined with the other parameters for proper understanding and analysis of the patient’s condition. Please allow the pulse oximeter to stabilize by observing for about 10 - 15 seconds under good pulse quality and then note the readings. It is acceptable for the displayed values to fluctuate slightly over a period of several seconds. If the pulse quality is not good please try on a different finger. with regards Four Square Healthcare
