Many thanks for your comments.
As you have said, we say on our site that our time scales are only estimated due to the fact that we manufacture all our rings to order and have to be prepared for all eventualities within that process.
When a customer places an order and the estimated due date is close to the event date they have entered, we will give these customers a courtesy call to make them aware of how we work and that their estimated due date is unfortunately not guaranteed. At this point, if we are able to offer an express manufacture, we will give this option to the customer. This means that your order will be leap frogged to the front of the cue in the workshop, and prioritised at all stages of the manufacturing process, including casting and hallmarking. The extra charge for this is to cover the costs incurred for this express manufacture service.
If opting not to go for an express manufacture, we will keep a very close eye on the order and keep our customers updated with any delays as soon as we are made aware of them by the workshop. We feel that this way of working is much better than promising a due date that we potentially then cannot keep as this is in turn misleading to our customers.
I hope this helps to explain the manufacturing process and the express manufacture service. Please do feel free to contact us on 01273 696 515 if you have any queries at all.
Kind regards and best wishes
