Black t-shirt featuring Peter Keetman’s Steel Pipes, Maximilian Smelter 1958, available to celebrate Tate Modern’s Shape of Light: 100 Years of Photography and Abstract Art exhibition. Peter Keetman (1916 – 2005) was a German photographer, and one of the founder members of the Fotoform group of avant-garde photographers. Keetman began his career as an industrial photographer, and industrial materials are the focus of many of his works, taken in black and white and with experimental usage of light effects. Shape of Light explores the relationship between abstract art and the invention of photography, with artworks from the 1910s to the present day showing the innovation and originality of photographers as they responded to and furthered the development of abstraction.
