Dear Mr Flood,
We were disappointed to read your comments and would like to reiterate the explanation that has been emailed to you.
Firstly, with regard to the price of your heater, as explained by your customer service agent in a phone conversation on 21st November - the higher figure you are referring to for the heater on your paperwork was actually the "list price" - i.e the full price before the design consultant applied her discount. We apologise for any confusion this may have caused but your finance agreement includes the correct lower amount for the heater and as such, there are no figures to adjust on your finance paperwork.
The apparent warmth from the heater is dependent on how far one is from the heater and also dependent on other weather conditions and in particular any wind. The heater is a 1.5KW infra red heater and this heat output is common for heaters as found in many public outside areas such as pubs and restaurants. Such a heater is normally considered adequate for an awning of your size. Of course an additional heater will double the output though as said, the normal industry standard recommendation for an awning of your size would be that a single such heater is adequate.
We are of course happy to attend site to make sure that the heater is operating correctly though if the heater element is switching on it seems unlikely that there is a fault with the output. Please let us know if you would like us to arrange for an engineer to visit and check the operation of the heater.
We do of course appreciate that you would like more heat output and this can be achieved with an additional heater but we understand you have previously rejected this option.
As we would like you to be satisfied with your finished Haus Awning installation, we are happy to supply an additional heater at the same discounted cost as the existing, and as a gesture of goodwill we will not charge labour for fitting so you are not financially disadvantaged in comparison to if you had ordered two heaters at point of sale. The second heater would be colour matched to the awning housing, fitted with a radio receiver and paired to your existing remote control. Please let us know if you wish to proceed with the second heater.
To address your later comments, as explained, the small hole in the middle bottom of the cassette housing is a weep hole and is there to allow any water that is wrung out of the fabric to escape if the awning is retracted whilst wet. It also allows any water that makes its way into the housing to escape. The drain hole must be in the middle as this is the lowest point of the cassette housing. The awning is fixed to the wall with brackets at either end. The awning will deflect a little over the span due to gravity meaning the middle is the lowest point and of course water will always run to the lowest point. We cannot move the weep hole and we do not recommend that it be blocked. With regret, we cannot consider this a fault and it is not something for which there is a remedy.
We trust that this answers your queries and that your Awning will bring you much joy in the years to come.
Kind regards,
