Hi Martyn, thanks for your time today. As discussed, I've spoken with the ferry operator and they've agreed to refund the full amount.
Apologies for the inconvenience caused, I agree the website was not clear and we have since acted on your feedback and made the requested improvement. We've added vans/commercial vehicles to the drop down menu and when this option is selected, a pop up will appear asking customers to call us. This will prevent the same situation occurring in the future.
