There are of course differences in speed especially between larger and smaller ships (although most ships average between 10-12 knots) - however there are significant advantages in terms of flexibility and landing time ashore on a small ship like this one! It is also easier to head further south towards the middle and end of the season. The MV Ushuaia does also have a polar circle cruise in January.
