Thank you for your feedback. All of our staff work hard to ensure that all courses here are both enjoyable and informative. I would like to elaborate on a few of your points. Tools are very important to any trade and very important to the new Level 3 Carpentry course that you are currently in attendance on; This is why we invested heavily on things like: static rip saws, static band saws, static mortice machines, industrial extraction systems, long reach compound cross cut saw and in addition numerous portable power tools which are either Dewalt or Makita - both you’ll agree, very reputable tool makers. We have been successfully training people from all walks of life for over 12 years and in that time we have tried both expensive and cheaper branded hand tools. The results tend to be exactly the same when these are in the hands of novice candidates: blades become blunt due to incorrect use initially and on frequent occasions, manage to grow legs and leave the centre, so for training purposes, we find that the cheaper options are sufficient. Being in training of course we completely expect this which is why we have lots of new stuff on standby ready to go. I hope this builds an honest picture of the investment Able Skills shows to it’s candidates regarding tools.
The level 3 is a fairly new course for Able Skills and as part of ensuring the quality of training is correct, we initially estimate the duration of training based on guided learning hours as set by our awarding body. Generally our audience have some life skills, which enables them to complete tasks a little more quickly, however we still have to remain mindful that younger candidates may need that additional time. After speaking with Tim, it’s clear that the team took you above and beyond what was required by the qualification. He enabled you to build a complete staircase as opposed to just fitting a prefabricated model and to build complete roof trusses. Effectively, he realised quite quickly that your group were progressing well, which is why he provided you all with much more than the qualification requires, but in doing so he has ensured that you will be entering the industry better prepared.
Finally I would like you to review your very personal comments regarding our office staff. I do not believe that this review site is the appropriate place to make a personal attack. The person you are referring to has been given recent feedback regarding a few issues relating to you and has recently attempted to speak to you on 2 occasions but both times, you had already left the course. I would suggest that you maybe speak directly with her rather than in this very public manner!
I hope this helps in understanding how Able Skills operates and that the candidate is at all times our main priority.
