Defective item supplied, customer services very slow to respond, item returned as per their procedure. Outdoor clearance refused to replace wanted item and eventually refunded.Sadly you only find out how good a retailer is when something goes wrong and how they deal with it. Outdoor clearance displayed a total disregard for customer service ie slow response, inappropriate emails when eventually received, a level of service this low thankfully is not seen very often.
Response from outdoor clearance
We are very sorry this item arrived damaged and that we were unable to fulfil our customer's expectations.
However, to be fair, we received their email at 10.31am and responded at 13.50pm - so under 4 hours later. Customer returned item within that period - so other options to help were rather closed to us by then.
Nonetheless, we regret the item arrived damaged - but these things happen from time to time when sending out goods by courier/post (glass item). We would urge customers to await a response before acting since replacement parts can often be sent without the item being returned.

I have no issues with receiving a damaged item, of course these things happen from time to time. My problem is with your woefully low level of customer service. Myself buying a lot of items online have come accustomed to a rapid response to queries and questions in office hours. Indeed on the odd occasion I have had to contact customer service teams over the years responses are received within the 1st hour usually much faster. Three plus hours in my opinion is very poor indeed.Your comment about waiting for a response from you has nothing to do with your returns procedure which is clearly defined on your site which I followed after waiting two hours for a response.Your other comment I note about your options being closed are inexplicable, This is a stock item and still in stock today, A replacement was expected as noted on my detailed invoice and was even marked as shipped by courier by youreselves ?. This clearly didn't happen and was eventually refunded without explanation?
