Thank you for your feedback on your recently received shirts and we're certainly very sorry that the alterations completed to sleeves have not been satisfactory. Our Tailoring Team are hugely experienced at ensuring alterations are completed correctly and with the utmost skill, so this is disappointing indeed. When shortening the length of a sleeve, the cuff is removed prior to the sleeve being adjusted to the right length. Afterwards, the cuff is reattached.
It would be quite impossible to alter the sleeve around thee armpit hole - it would require a completely new shirt made from scratch to do so, I'm afraid.
The more length which is removed from the sleeve, the 'baggier' it will ultimately end up looking and this is simply unavoidable. In this case, 4" was removed from the sleeves, which is the maximum we recommend or allow for precisely this reason. We'll be in touch to discuss a return on the shirts, as we wouldn't want for you to be left with items you will not enjoy.
